Half Oak Candles
When it comes to candle scents I love sweet, floral, spicy, herbal etc...you name it and I can think of the best time to use it. That's why I was really excited when Samantha, founder of Half Oak Candles, contacted me and asked if I wanted to try and review her home-made candle collection.
I asked Samantha to tell me a little about Half Oak Candles and how she found herself owning a candle business.

“I was inspired to make candles because of my love for them.
I also wanted to make quality candles with an amazing scent throw. Each candle is handmade and poured, I also create the labels myself. I’m dedicated to bring highly scented and delicious smelling candles to customers. The wax is a clean burning paraffin blend with a great hot and cold scent throw. People are lead to believe that paraffin is unnatural but that is far from the truth. I produce highly scented candles with the best researched materials. I also use glass jars that can be reusable. The name HalfOak is dedicated to my grandmother who passed away in 2013. She lived in the same house as me and would always comment and laugh on how silly the name was, may she rest in peace”.

Once I received the candles, the first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the sweet yummy scent of three good sized candles – Hawaiia Paradise, Spiced Cranberry and Buttercream Icing. The fragrance was very sweet, not over powering yet strong enough to make me want to light them straight away!

What can I say, a really sweet, yummy fragrance with a hint of spice. This candle is more on the Christmassy side when it comes to scents (right on time). Perfect for a cosy winter day to get anyone into the festive mood!

Buttercream Iicing
Buttercream Icing 8oz candle
Sweet, rich Buttercream... there's nothing quite like it! If you close your eyes, you'll swear you're standing in an old-time bakery when you smell this. It will have you licking your lips whilst thinking of cake! It really does smell like buttercream whilst not becoming too over powering.

The Half Oak Candles I received came in secure, clear 8oz jars which once the candle has finished are reusable – yeahy. Each candle had a unique scent which were all equally sweet and kept my home smelling lovely!
I am very impressed with Half Oak candles and think they would make a really lovely gift for someone special for any occasion. If you love homemade candles which smell sweet and take you down memory lane you should give Half Oak Candles a try!
