Avocado and Banana Hair mask

The following hair mask is really easy to make and leaves your hair feeling amazing!!

Picture
I have used it weekly throughout my natural hair journey and still use it today. It never fails to leave my hair feeling soft, shiny and bouncy. Believe me you will not be disappointed!

The ingredients are:
1 Avocado  -
rich in potassium, Vitamin E, protein, Vitamin A,
Vitamin K, fiber, folate, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, copper              and protein.
1 Banana - rich in potassium that strengthens hair,  minimises breakage by restoring your hair’s natural elasticity,   moisturises and contains natural oils.
1 egg (optional, only out egg in the mixture once a month)

Picture
I then add 2 tablespoons of the following oils: (you don’t have to add them all in one mixture)
-       Olive oil
-       Coconut oi
-       Castor oil
-       Mayonnaise
-       Honey
-       Water

Directions:
  1. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth
  2. Work hair mask into damp hair, paying close attention to ends and edges
Picture
3.   Make sure all off your hair and scalp is saturated with the mask, be generous!
4.   Cover hair with a plastic cap or bag and leave on for 1hr or more.
5.   Wash mixture out with a sulphate-free shampoo, use a good leave-in and style as desired.

Tip!
I use a NutriNinja to mix all the ingredients. If your mixture still has some lumps remaining do use a rice strainer to catch any bits which may get stuck in the hair.

Enjoy mixing and let me know how it went in the comments below!

Hey Zeinab
I'm in love with your website I read your story and can relate so much as I cut my hair of all its relaxed ends 9 days ago😁 It has not been easily a few people have questioned why I would cut my healthy bra strap length relaxed hair which wasn't damaged at the time but I feel I've been hiding behind my poker straight hair all my life!
Thanks for your advice I have purchased these ingredients to make my home made DC! Keep up the hard work you have come so far from high school days I'm so so proud to have known you
Stay blessed x

Hi Naturally_ZeZe! I really love your page and the hair tips you been giving. I have been natural for more than 3 years now. I have flat iron my hair a few months ago and i have heat damage (straight ends). What can i do to get rid of it? Plus have you done a protein treatment? If you do, how often?

Hi Liselle!

So sorry to hear about the straight ends!

Deep condition your hair and if the ends are still straight then it only means one thing - heat damage. If its heat damage sadly there's not much that can be done. You will need to trim/cut the damage off as it won't curl again. That the risk that's comes with using a straightener even just one time. Your hair ill grow back and just see it as a learning experience.
I do protein treatments once very two weeks, the above conditioner is amazing - I use it once a week!

I hope this helped.
