(Pt.1) GroHealthy Shea & Coconut 3 Product Review & Giveaway! [CLOSED]

I was recently asked to review and share my thoughts on GroHealthy Shea & Coconut Omega 3 product collection.
I decided to review all the products in to parts. This blog post will be (pt.1) and I will be reviewing three products from the range - Flat Out Frizz Fighter, Shea & Coconut Oil and Smooth Edges! (Don't worry I will be posting a review of the other four products very shortly!)
I love trying new products and as a blogger I get asked to review SO many, but when I was asked if I was interested in sharing my views on the GroHealthy products I just had to say yes! You see, GroHealthy products are  not only affordable - they all retail at under £4!! Having tried products with hefty price tags I was curious to see if Shea & Coconut collection worked just as well and dare I say it even better!
The GroHealthy Shea & Coconut collection was formulated with three main ingredients known to be beneficial to hair:
  • Shea to nourish roots and soothes scalp
  • Coconut Oil Extract to moisturise, fight frizz, promote growth and add shine
  • Omega 3 to helps rebuild, strengthen and protect hair strands from within
The first thing I noticed was the products have a very light yet sweet scent. Just like the rest of the Shea & Coconut products the ingredients contain:
  • NO Petrolatum
  • NO Mineral Oil
  • NO Sulfates
  • NO Phthalates
  • NO Colorants
  • NO Parabens

Flat Out Frizz Fighter

Picture
The Flat Out Frizz Fighter is a thick, creamy moisturiser formulated to help eliminate frizz and fly-away hair without having to restyle. It can be used daily on both dry and damp hair without causing too much build-up as and protects against heat as well.
Retail Price - £2.99
Verdict: I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It’s thick in consistency which my hair loved and it really did help with re-moisturising my hair and smoothing down any frizz. To use the product I divided my hair into four sections and used a small amount from root to tip making sure I concentrated on the ends. My hair felt more moisturised and my curls had more visible definition.

Shea & Coconut Oil

Picture
The Shea & Coconut Oil is a light multi-functional oil blend which can be used as a pre-shampoo for a scalp massage, as a sealant to lock in moisture and as a finish to give your hair some shine. An extra bonus is that it can also be used on skin too!
Retail Price - £2.99
Verdict: A light oil which soaked into the strands quickly leaving my hair smooth and shiny without it feeling greasy. The oil also felt really nice on my hands too leaving them smooth and silky.

Smooth Edges (control paste)

Picture
Smooth Edges is a control paste to help with smoothing, defining the hairline. It can also help with smoothing down any fly-aways and blending textures. An extra bonus is that it can also be used on eyebrows too!
Retail Price - £3.99
Verdict: As someone who loves buns as a go to style I always need something to smooth down my edges and keep them down. This edge control is very smooth and easy to apply. It has a medium to strong hold and didnt lrave any residue or flakes. My esges felt soft and I was able to restyle without any difficulty.

I'm a student at university so I'm always busy and under some kind of stress which makes my hair routine super hard. I tried different products to aid in curl definition, frizz, moisture and so on but one criteria is always left out...frizz control. I would LOVE to try these products and the fact that they're so affordable makes me giddy!!

I am so excited about this giveaway! I found the reviews you have given to be so helpful. This is a triple threat! The frizz fighter will come in much handiness. I love the fact the the oil is light and non-greasy. No white flakes from the edge control? Awesome!

I've been following your page forever and love your reviews. I just started the natural hair journey about 2 years ago. I'm still testing out products (expensive and inexpensive) to see which products work best for my hair. I would like to try out these products.

Really interesting read, I am always trying to control my frizzy hair . I find that most products I use promise a lot but don't deliver and are expensive too but these seem reasonably priced.

Sounds like great products. I am currently transitioning from relaxed to natural. I'm always looking for new products with no nasty chemicals to nurture my hair. It would be amazing to win this competition. You guys are so lucky to have such a wide variety of curly hair products to choose from. Here in Australia natural curly hair products is very difficult to find. I had to purchase shea moisture products online and the postage cost me an arm and a leg (total cost of purchase for 3 products including postage $127AUD).

Thank you Ze Ze for your blog.

As we are approaching a chilly winter, I am in need for some oils and moisturers!! I will be travelling abroad to Europe in the new year for a few months where it will be extremely cold I'll be staying near the ALPS :D
Woopdidooo (no not a tropical holiday where my melanin will be poppin)

....I guess you already know us sistas worry or spend tooo much energy thinking of our hair styles and/or the CONDITION of our hair when travelling abroad.

I mean would there be an Afro hair salon/store near the alps lol

Sounds like my hair would love the products especially the oil. It was such an informative read. I use almond oil on my dry hair and adding the oil you reviewed would really nourish my hair. The fact that its affordable and good hair product for a student like myself is a huge bonus and therefore i would really love to win this giveaway because i really dont know how to get my hands on them.Btw i have been following you on instagram for a while now and you are such an inspiration
